Emsella
Book NowEmsella is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared and Health Canada-licensed treatment that uses HIFEM® energy to rapidly contract and strengthen the pelvic floor—improving bladder control and intimate wellness. Sessions are done fully clothed and typically take about 28 minutes. Most plans include a series of treatments for best results.

Suitability for EMSELLA is based on individual condition and medical history. Relevant information such as pelvic floor dysfunction, urinary symptoms, postpartum status, or erectile concerns should be disclosed to ensure safe and appropriate treatment.
Stay well hydrated before treatment, as hydration supports muscle function and enhances results. Eat normally prior to your session. Avoid caffeine or bladder irritants if sensitive. Empty your bladder immediately before treatment for optimal comfort.
Wear comfortable clothing without metal buttons, zippers, jewelry, or accessories, as EMSELLA uses an MRI-strength electromagnetic field. Remove all metallic items before treatment. You will remain fully clothed during the procedure.
Arrive prepared and on time. You will be seated on the EMSELLA chair for approximately 30 minutes per session. Because the magnetic field may damage electronics, keep your phone away and consider bringing a book or alternative.
Maintain a healthy lifestyle and hydration prior to treatment. Avoid anything that may compromise comfort during the session. Proper preparation supports better muscle engagement and improved outcomes.
A typical treatment protocol consists of 6 sessions over 3 weeks, with 2–3 days between sessions. Each session delivers approximately 11,000 supramaximal pelvic floor contractions, equivalent to thousands of Kegel exercises. Improvement may begin after the first few sessions, but full results require completion of the full series.
Resume normal activities immediately—no surgery, needles, or anesthesia.
Sit on the chair; you’ll feel strong but tolerable pelvic contractions.
HIFEM induces thousands of supramaximal contractions per session—far beyond typical Kegels.
Helps reduce leakage and urgency by rebuilding pelvic support.
After a brief consult, you’ll sit fully clothed on the Emsella chair for ~28 minutes while HIFEM® stimulates the pelvic floor. You’ll feel rhythmic, intense contractions with mild tingling; most programs include about 6 sessions spaced over several weeks.
There is no downtime following EMSELLA. You may resume all normal daily activities immediately. Some patients may experience mild tingling, pelvic muscle fatigue, or soreness for a few hours post-treatment, which is normal and indicates muscle activation.
Continue to drink plenty of water after each session. Proper hydration supports muscle recovery and helps flush metabolic byproducts released during deep muscle stimulation.
Normal activity is encouraged; however, avoid intense core or abdominal workouts on the same day to prevent overexertion of treated muscles. Light activity is beneficial.
Monitor changes in urinary control, pelvic strength, and overall symptoms. Improvements may include reduced leakage, improved urgency control, enhanced core stability, and improved intimate wellness. Results are progressive and build over time.
Do not skip sessions during the initial phase, as each treatment builds on the previous one. Attend all follow-up appointments as recommended by Platinum Medical Spa to assess progress and adjust your plan if needed.
To maintain and enhance your results, regular maintenance treatments are recommended every 1–6 months, most commonly every 2–3 months depending on your condition and goals. Daily pelvic floor exercises such as Kegels are strongly encouraged to support and sustain muscle strength. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including proper hydration, a balanced diet, and regular physical activity, will further optimize your outcomes. Limiting bladder irritants such as caffeine, alcohol, carbonated drinks, and spicy or acidic foods may also improve long-term results. Additional pelvic-strengthening exercises such as bridges or yoga-based movements can help maintain muscle engagement. Results vary based on individual factors and adherence to the recommended treatment plan.
