Do not apply skincare products, makeup, or sunscreen after your first cleanse. Please eat before your appointment and arrive without jewelry.
For comfort, you may be given Ibuprofen 800 mg prior to treatment. Topical numbing cream will be applied and left for approximately 30 minutes before treatment. If you have a history of cold sores, inform Platinum Medical Spa as antiviral medication may be recommended.
Avoid sunburn or tanning prior to treatment. The skin must be clean and free of products. A team member at Platinum Medical Spa will cleanse your skin before treatment. Photos and consent will be completed if not done in advance.
Treatment is not suitable if you have cystic acne, open wounds, active cold sores, stye, metal implants in the treatment area, or if you are pregnant, nursing, under 22, or have bleeding disorders or are taking blood thinners. Notify Platinum Medical Spa if any apply.
Avoid dermal fillers in the treatment area for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment. Treatment may need to be rescheduled if recent fillers were performed.
Wear comfortable clothing and, for neck treatments, a V-neck top is recommended. Treatment typically lasts 30–45 minutes after preparation. Mild heat sensations may be felt during treatment but are generally well tolerated.

Your session begins with a personalized assessment where your provider maps out treatment zones and skin goals. During the procedure, the Sofwave handpiece delivers ultrasound energy precisely into the mid-dermis to stimulate new collagen — without damaging the skin's surface. Built-in cooling ensures the treatment is safe and comfortable. Most clients report a mild warming sensation and no pain. The entire session lasts less than an hour, with zero downtime required. Results appear gradually as collagen rebuilds over 12 weeks, and a single treatment is often enough.
No downtime expected. Mild redness or swelling may occur and typically resolves within a few hours. Warmth or tenderness may be present but should subside without intervention.
If swelling occurs, apply cold compresses for 10 minutes every hour and sleep with your head elevated the first night. Avoid hot water if redness persists until the skin returns to normal.
You may resume your regular skincare routine immediately, but use gentle, non-irritating, non-clogging products for the first week. Avoid scrubs, toners, retinoids (Retin-A/retinol), glycolic acid, and bleaching creams (hydroquinone) until the skin has healed.
Avoid excessive heat for 48 hours, including hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, and strenuous exercise that may heat the skin.
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 2 hours. Avoid direct sun exposure and wear protective clothing during the healing period.
Results develop gradually, with improvements seen as early as 2 weeks and full results at approximately 3 months. Follow-up is recommended at 3–4 months. Typically, 1–2 treatments are needed with maintenance once per year.
