Microneedling
Book NowMicroneedling is a powerful skin rejuvenation treatment that uses ultra-fine, medical-grade needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin — stimulating the body's natural healing response and triggering collagen and elastin production. At Platinum Medical Spa, microneedling is customized to target fine lines, acne scars, large pores, and dull texture. It's a go-to for clients seeking smoother, firmer, more youthful skin without surgery or downtime.

Arrive with clean skin. Do not wear makeup, creams, oils, or perfume on the treatment area. Discontinue retinol, exfoliants, and active topical products 2–3 days prior to treatment.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning before treatment. Avoid sunless tanners for at least 2 weeks prior. Daily sunscreen use is recommended leading up to your appointment.
Avoid NSAIDs (Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Aspirin) and other blood-thinning products for 3–5 days prior unless prescribed. Inform your provider of any medications or supplements.
Reschedule if you have active acne, infection, open wounds, rash, or cold sores in the treatment area. Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have used Accutane within the past 6 months.
Stay well hydrated. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment. Inform your provider of any recent procedures or skin treatments.
Skip saunas, workouts, or hot showers for 24 hours post-treatment.
Let hairs fall out naturally — only shave between treatments.
Protect exposed skin with broad-spectrum sunscreen.
Hair becomes finer and sparser with every visit; most see 80-90% reduction over a series.
After cleansing and numbing, a microneedling device is gently passed across your skin, creating precise microchannels that stimulate renewal. The treatment takes about 30-45 minutes, and most clients describe the sensation as a light prickling or buzzing. At Platinum Medical Spa, we often pair microneedling with medical-grade serums or PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) to boost your results even further. Expect some redness post-treatment — similar to a mild sunburn — that typically subsides within 24-48 hours.
Mild redness, warmth, and sensitivity are expected and may feel like a sunburn. Light swelling, dryness, or tightness may occur. Minor pinpoint bleeding or marks may be visible immediately after treatment.
Do not wash or touch the treated area for at least 12 hours unless instructed. Avoid applying sunscreen, makeup, or skincare products during the first 24 hours. Gentle cooling may be used if needed.
After 24 hours, gently cleanse with a mild cleanser. Use a gentle, hydrating serum or moisturizer as recommended by your provider. Avoid active ingredients such as retinol, acids, vitamin C (low pH), and exfoliants for at least 5–7 days. Do not pick or exfoliate the skin.
Avoid heat, saunas, steam, sweating, and intense exercise for 24–48 hours. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Avoid swimming and excessive sweating for at least 48 hours.
Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30–50+) after 24–48 hours once the skin has calmed. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for at least 7 days. Wear protective clothing outdoors. Makeup may be resumed after 24–48 hours if the skin feels comfortable.
Healing typically occurs within 24–72 hours, though mild dryness or flaking may last a few days. Results improve over time as collagen production increases. Contact your provider if you experience increasing pain, prolonged redness, signs of infection, or unusual swelling.
