About

Skin boosters place small depots of lightweight HA just under the skin to attract water, improving elasticity, smoothness, and glow without adding shape or volume. Protocols usually include a short series, then maintenance a few times per year.

Pre-Care
General Planning

If you have a special event or vacation, schedule your appointment at least 4–6 weeks in advance. Avoid booking if you have been unwell, recently vaccinated (within 2 weeks), or have upcoming dental procedures.

Medications & Supplements

Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for 7–14 days before treatment unless prescribed, including Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Warfarin (consult first), Vitamin E, fish oil, flaxseed oil, garlic, Ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, and essential fatty acids. Avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours prior.

Medical Conditions

Inform Platinum Medical Spa of all medications, supplements, and medical history. If you have a history of cold sores, notify us at least 1 week prior; antiviral medication (e.g., Valacyclovir/Valtrex) may be prescribed.

Skin & Treatment Preparation

Avoid other facial treatments or cosmetic procedures before your appointment. Avoid sun exposure, extreme heat, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours prior to reduce bruising risk.

Day of Treatment

Arrive with a clean face (no makeup or skincare). Eat a light meal before your appointment. Avoid intense exercise immediately before treatment.

Additional Preparation

Optional: Zinc supplements may be taken a few days prior. Ensure you have reviewed your consent form and treatment information before your appointment.

Deep, Lasting Hydration

HA draws moisture into the dermis for a plumper, dewier surface.

Texture Refinement

Softens crepiness and micro-lines so makeup sits beautifully.

Natural-Looking Outcome

Enhances quality without changing facial contours.

Versatile Treatment Zones

Face, neck, and hands respond well for uniform glow.

Glass-Skin Micro-Infusion

Following cleanse and topical numbing, micro-deposits are placed by needle or cannula. Expect a grid of tiny bumps that settle within 24–72 hours. Sessions take 20–40 minutes; typical plan is 2–3 visits ~4 weeks apart.

Post Care
Immediate Aftercare

Avoid touching the treated area and do not apply makeup for at least 12 hours. Do not lie directly on treated areas for at least 4–24 hours. Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising are normal.

First 24 Hours

Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and excessive movement of the treated area. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and anti-inflammatory medications unless prescribed; you may take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) if needed.

Skin Care & Hygiene

Cleanse gently the evening after treatment without applying pressure. Shower normally the next day. Avoid rubbing or massaging the area. Use cool compresses within 48 hours if needed to reduce swelling.

Heat & Environmental Exposure

Avoid sun exposure, saunas, hot environments, and swimming (including sea water) for up to 2 weeks. Avoid facials, waxing, or massage in the treated area for 2 weeks.

Healing & Results

It is normal to feel small lumps initially as the product settles. Results improve gradually. A treatment course is recommended, typically spaced every 4–6 weeks.

Warning Signs & Follow-Up

Contact Platinum Medical Spa immediately if you experience increasing pain, unusual swelling, redness, pus, numbness, visual changes, severe headache, or signs of cold sores. Changes in skin color (paleness, mottling, or rash) should also be reported. If you have any concerns, please contact us for support.
